The Vietnam Student Olympiad in IT 2005 (OLP’05), organized since 1992 by Vietnam Association for Information Processing and Vietnam Student Association, has raised stimulations among students from Universities and Colleges nationwide to study, practise, do research and create IT and it has been highly appreciated by leaders, deans of such Universities and Colleges, enthusiastically received support from Ministries and Sectors.
The OLP is, as usual organized every April – May. This period of time is the Festival of talented IT students carefully being selected from Universities and Colleges’ IT competition. They are practitioners, have a quite confidence in the intelligence and creativity-involved competition. Students also have opportunity to affirm themselves through those OLPs, and have a general assessment on their IT level as well.
Despite an encouraging activity, the Vietnam Student Olympiad in IT has significant and practical impacts on students as well as the ICT human resources development of our country. The fact that the Olympiad is jointly organized by Ministry of Education and Training affirms the importance of this annual event.
OLP is regarded as a significant and annual event of Vietnam Education and Training and ICT Sectors for the great success and substantial achievement obtained in the 13 competitions.
Renamed into the Vietnam Student Olympiad in IT, it has received strong support of Vietnam students nationwide for its, those awarded with either national and international IT prizes or third prizes upwards in previous OLP can take part in the competition for Super Cup and Micromouse Competition is also introduced in this year’s competition. For the sake of Integration and Development, VAIP, the host of OLP 2005 has an intention of expanding OLP international stature and international standard, in which teams from ASEAN Universities shall join the competition, Ministry of Science and Technology-sponsored to extend The Open Source Software competition.
