APEC Symposium on
Improving Market Access for ICT Outsource SMEs

The APEC Symposium on Improving Market Access for ICT Outsource SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) with Outsourcing is a regional event for the APEC region. The Symposium will be organized as parallel event of the 17th Vietnam IT week and ICT exhibition 2008.
The APEC-ICT-SME’08 is supported by APEC, National Steering Committee on IT and Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam and will be co-organized by the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) and the Institute of Information Technology (IoIT) of the Vietnamese Academy of Sciences and Technology.
The aim of the Symposium is to promote the outsourcing among APEC economies in general, and to help ICT SMEs improve their competitive capacity in particular.
The presentations in the Symposium will have a focus on:

ICT standards to support outsourcing

Outsourcing marketing

Outsourcing: chances and challenges

Supporting policies for outsourcing

Quality assurance and project management for outsourced IT projects

Maximizing the benefits of outsourcing

Evaluation of the current situation and suggestion for improvement
In addition, the Symposium will have a panel discussion on the necessity of establishing a collaborative network to boost the ICT outsourcing among member economies, and future supporting activities.
The Symposium will be participated by

- Vietnamese ICT enterprises
- Foreign ICT enterprises in Viet Nam
- ICT enterprises of the APEC economies
- Academic institutions and ICT training centers
With about 200 expected participants, the APEC-ICT-SME’08 is a great chance for finding outsourcing partners. It is also a great chance for SMEs to show up themselves to a big audience, and to improve their image internationally and locally.
